Happy Release Day to A Cosmic Kind of Love!

When event planner Hallie Goodman receives party-inspiration material from the bride of her latest wedding project, the last thing she expects to find in the files are digital videos from Darcy’s ex-boyfriend. Hallie knows it’s wrong to keep watching these personal videos, but this guy is cute, funny, and an astronaut on the International Space Station to boot. She’s only human. And it’s not long until she starts sending e-mails and video diaries to his discontinued NASA address. Since they’re bouncing back, there’s no way anyone will ever be able to see them…right?

Christopher Ortiz is readjusting to life on earth and being constantly in the shadow of his deceased older brother. When a friend from NASA’s IT department forwards him the e-mails and video messages Hallie has sent, he can’t help but notice how much her sense of humor and pink hair make his heart race.

Separated by screens, Hallie and Chris are falling in love with each other, one transmission at a time. But can they make their star-crossed romance work when they each learn the other’s baggage?

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

After event planner Hallie Goodman comes across a file of video diaries from a bride’s ex, which she knows is wrong to watch, Hallie can’t help but find a connection with the ex, Captain Christopher Ortiz, an astronaut. When Chris discovers these correspondences, he can’t help but find a connection with Hallie and how different and funny she is and how she makes his heart beat wild. As they begin to know each other, it feels like there’s a force pushing them closer together.

I gave A Cosmic Kind of Love 4.5 stars, really enjoying the growing friendship and then romance that Hallie and Chris had. While this started out a little cringy and I was afraid it would stay that way, I found myself wanting more of Hallie and Chris together. They fit really well together and I found their chemistry so good. The one thing I liked about Chris and Hallie is that they both had a lot of similarities together yet differences that they could bounce off each other.

Within A Cosmic Kind of Love, I found that there were some things that I didn’t really like, hence why I gave this 4.5 stars. That being said it wasn’t a big enough dislike that it put me off of this book. While the beginning of A Cosmic Kind of Love was a little unnerving and I felt myself feeling embarrassed for Hallie and Chris with the video diary correspondence. There’s something about recording a video entry and having someone watch it makes me cringe, but, as we got to know the situation, I found that Samantha Young did a good job of making me move past the embarrassment.

I really enjoyed Samantha Young’s writing in A Cosmic Kind of Love. It felt like I was feeling the love that was slowly blooming between Hallie and Chris and just the longing between them. The blooming friendship that started to become something more romantic was perfect. I had so much fun reading this and found every moment reading this enjoyable. Even with the Act III conflict situation that happened, I found that it wasn’t something that would change my rating to something lower than 4.5 stars. This was well written and the plot and relationship was fun to read.
