Hello everyone!
My name is Veronica Chen and I’m a Taiwanese American. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu, Hawaii, and absolutely love reading and writing in my free time.
In this blog I primarily post book reviews which I started in 2018 every once in a while because reading books was something that I enjoyed. I wanted to share my thoughts on books with other book enthusiasts from the online literary community. As of May 2020, I started posting book reviews as my primary content and I love doing it. Occasionally I will have posts under Blog as well as content for my Project Marigold which started as a school project and I decided to continue writing about my love for the environment.
I also have a Youtube Channel where I talk about my love for books and post content weekly since May 2020. I started posting after I found that I wanted to broaden my horizons and connect with more people who love books as well. The Book Youtube (Booktube) community is a wonderful community and I have slowly become friends with different people and share different books with each other.
I love to travel with my family (Pre COVID-19) and have been to Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Australia. Through traveling, I became acquainted with operas, classical music, and my love of history. But this is all thanks to my parents who pushed my siblings and I to learn more about the world. Along with traveling, my father’s company, Licha Stelaus Productions brought many musicians and choir groups from around the world which helped expand my communication skills and make me become more outgoing.
Some Random Facts About Me:
— One of my all time favorite books is The Princess Bride by William Goldman but I have many favorite books.
— My favorite movie is The Little Mermaid
— My favorite TV Show is Brooklyn Nine-Nine and my childhood favorite is Home Improvement
— I love pop music (but secretly love country music)
— I play the trumpet and love it
— On December 23, 2019, I played at Singapore’s Esplanade Concert Hall
— I like to play cozy games like Stardew Valley or Sims 4 and slowly discovering more farming games
— On my free time I love to read, write, sketch, and watch movies and TV shows
