I Haunt it That Way combined both a spooky atmosphere and romantic, filled with chemistry environment. When it came to the chemistry between Thora and Lee, I was kicking my feet and grinning like a fool.
Thora and Lee’s chemistry from the beginning of the book was present. I loved how clear Lee’s attraction was to Thora and the fact that — even though Thora didn’t like Lee — she still couldn’t help but think he was handsome and, in all honesty, her perfect match. I Haunt it That Way combined both the spookiness of a long abandoned family cabin with clear chemistry between our two main characters really well. There were times where I was truly freaking out by some of the spookiness, but loved that there was a combination of spooky, but “let me save you from this spookiness” from both our characters.
Lee was probably one of my favorite parts of this book. I loved how clear his attraction was to Thora and how he never once backed down from his view of her. His unrequited feelings for her made me love him more, purely because he had respect for her and never once pushed his feelings on her. Instead, he showed her what love was all about throughout the book. Thora, on the other hand, was freshly divorced from Lee’s best friend, Cody, and to top it all off, never really liked Lee. Except, there’s a fine line between love and hate.
I had a blast reading I Haunt it That Way and, since I read it physically (because I may have read this after it was published), I had a lot of fun annotating my physical copy. This made it more fun to read and to experience Lee’s flirting start to impact the way Thora saw him.
