Five Types of Makeup You Need for Light Coverage

Hi everyone! I’m sorry I haven’t been updating my blog these past few months. Reason for that is that I’m focusing on trying to get my math grade up and that has been a really slow process so I’ve just been focusing on that and I’ve really put all my focus on schoolwork which means I don’t have as much time to write during the week. But, because it’s almost Thanksgiving break and I’m so thankful for Thanksgiving and the break and all my stress has finally been released these past few weeks, I will now be uploading to my usual time of every Saturday’s at 1pm! So let’s get started!

As a student, I tend to wear makeup whenever possible even though I find that it’s slightly hard to do that at 6 am in the morning after showering, so, I came up with five types of makeup that I use and that are simple steps and very easy to use, even for beginners.

I use a lot of these steps but sometimes I don’t even use all five products! But, on the weekend these five products are my go to and I must use it because it’s the weekend and its fun. I feel like all my products have actually been mentioned in previous

Product one is my all time favorite, mascara; the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, waterproof and non-waterproof. It’s easy to use and doesn’t need that many coats of mascara to really notice the difference between no mascara vs mascara.

Product two is Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Gel. This is the smaller version of the Brow Gel (sorry I’m not entirely sure what it is called). By using this, I don’t at all have to use a pencil for my brows, I just put this on my brows and use a spooly to soften it up. This product is actually already a spooly, but, I use another spooly to soften it up because I find that there can be a lot of product on my brows if I don’t use the extra spooly and I find that my eyebrows are way too dark compared to my face makeup.

Product three is the Sephora brand concealer which I don’t use a lot, but I love its coverage. I find that I never have to use foundation as I don’t always want to use foundation because it provides too much coverage for me on a daily basis if I want to wear something to cover up all the imperfections that I have. I feel like you don’t really need a branded concealer like Too Faced or Kat Von D or others to get a nice type of concealer. Of course, if you want to have one for Too Faced and others, you can. The Sephora brand I found is a cheaper option and has really good coverage for light makeup as well as heavy makeup.

Product four is one of my favorite things, the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in Blushing Bride. I got this because of one of my favorite YouTubers, Kristen Johns because she used it on her wedding day and she did also say that it was really good. So I bought it and after months of using this blush, I can absolutely say that it is amazing. It is very light so I do occasionally have to pack a lot on my cheeks but that is the good thing I find about this product. It lets me put as much as I need with easy control of the product and that is one of the things I love about this product.

Product five is the Sephora Bronzing Powder in the shade Mykonos. I find that it goes great with my skin tone and really gives me definition to my cheeks. I try to use a little less product with this because I find that a little goes a long way with this. Unlike the blush, you really have to use less powder with this. All in all, this product is an amazing bronzer and I love to use it as more of a contour and then a bronzer but both do go great.

Lastly, product six is something I find essential as I have probably the oiliest face out of my entire family. The Kat Von D Translucent Powder. I have the mini powder and I find that I can even bring it to school and it works perfectly. I don’t need to pack too much powder and I don’t have to complain about my face always being extremely oily throughout the day.

Somethings I also like to add is a tiny strip of eyeliner on some occasions. I use The Body Shop eyeliner in the skinny fit felt eyeliner. I love the way how smooth it flows on my eyes and the way the wing forms in seconds. I did try the Kat Von D Trooper Black eyeliner but I found that it really didn’t go on smoothly and left gaps in between. But, I now use The Body Shop eyeliner and it suits me well.

Guys that is all for the products! Now you don’t have to follow these but I found these to be really helpful when I wake up early for school. Makeup is something I really enjoy and I don’t have to hate myself every morning for each complicated step. Each of these products is easy to use and the way it feels on the face is comfortable that sometimes I actually forget I put on any makeup.

So, I’m sorry for the late posts but I do hope you enjoy this one! I hope you’ve had some suggestions on what to buy!

My Everyday Skincare Routine

Hello fellow readers! Today’s post is all about my skincare routine that I do every day morning and evening.

These products I’ve been using since around mid-July and have been loving them all and truly using them every day.

Every morning and evening I wash my face and in the mornings I usually shower and I use an Avene face wash to use. But, during the evening I use the Bioré: Baking Soda Acne Cleansing Foam and that has really made a difference! I got this at a Target in Boston so I am not fully sure if you can get it at Watsons or Guardians in Singapore. I do know that it’s a nice affordable drugstore cleansing foam and it is one of the products that shockingly made a difference to my face. Before I started to use this product, I found that my face was just filled with pimples and I would just continuously get new ones all the time, but after I started using this cleansing foam, I found that I don’t get fiery red pimples every week and that my face has started to clear up a lot more and I can really see a difference.

The next two products are both Neutrogena products but, I use one every morning and one every night. The first product I use is the Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture with Sunscreen: Broad Spectrum SPF 15. I use this every morning after washing my face so that instead of using a moisturizer and sunscreen, I have both in one bottle. I’m also lazy, and the fact that this is both moisturizer and sunscreen in one, I find that it really helps during the school day and does not at all break my face out and it does not make my face oily at all by the time I come home.

During the evenings, I use the Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture: Combination Skin as it isn’t too heavy on the skin at night and I don’t need to use sunscreen at night so I use this product. It is a little oily by the morning but it hasn’t at all broke me out and doesn’t leave my face feel awkward by the next day.

As well as in the evenings, I like to use eye cream along with my moisturizer. I find that my eyelids can get really dry so I use the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado and it has really helped keep moisture on my eyelids and also treats the under eyes a lot. I don’t have as many dry patches on my eyelids and I don’t have to worry about dry skin coming off during the day.

I don’t usually wear mascara every day but I use it often enough throughout the week that I decided to include this product in. The Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover is one of the most used skincare/makeup products I use. I love to use a cotton pad and just swipe this product over my eyes and I feel that in seconds, all the mascara is off. You do need to shake it beforehand but that is very simple and easy to do. Something I found about this product is that even though it says it is oil-free and that it doesn’t leave an oily residue, I found that whenever I use this product I touch my eyelids and under my eyes and it is extremely oily that I have to wash my whole face in order to get all the oil off. Even if it says it doesn’t leave an oily residue, that has not been true at all so far and I feel that if you want to buy this product, you really have to make sure that it doesn’t leave oil on your lids.

This is probably half of what I actually use but the majority of the skincare products I use are really a once a week thing and not an everyday thing.

After one month of using these products, my mom and dad told me that they thought my face looked so much clearer from before. When I heard that I was really surprised, mainly because I have always thought of my acne as unable to truly be clear, but when they told me it looked much better, I was smiling so hard. Of course, I still have acne, but these days I found myself consistently using these products and not panicking about trying to conceal a new fresh pimple that has appeared on my face.

I just want you to know I have not used any type of medicine of sorts to clear my acne up as I really don’t believe that is the healthiest way. But, something I did do is take my vitamins daily, that was really the only thing I took.

Sorry for the long rants about each product but I hope you like some of these products and would possibly try them out! If you have, tell me what you guys thought about it when you used it down in the comments!

Thank you guys so much for reading and have a great weekend!

My Go To Eyeshadow Look

Hi everyone! So, it’s been a while since I’ve made something beauty related, so, I’ve finally posted one!

I don’t wear makeup every day as I’m pretty lazy and sometimes I just find that I’m too tired to put it on in the morning at 5 am every day before school. And, I really try not to put on makeup for school as sometimes I might have an accident of some sorts and it ends up looking really bad. That’s probably another thing I’m pretty scared of, having my makeup be ruined in the middle of the day and not notice until I get home.

On the weekends that I go out and hang out with my friends, I love to wear eyeshadow even if I know it will never look like professional makeup artists, clearly.

So I use the Tarteist palette which is a travel sized palette and I find that buying this was the best decision because I really don’t wear eyeshadow that often and I’m not extremely adventurous with eyeshadow colors.

There are 6 total shades, Drive, Stylin, Boss, Hype, Crisp, and Dominate.

Sometimes, I use every shade and pick one glitter. The glitters are Boss, Hype, and Dominate and my favorite glitter has to be Boss.

First, I always use the Benefit Stay Don’t Stray concealer to set my eyelids as my eyelids are rather oily. So far, this is the best concealer for my eyes as when I use it, it never leaves that weird residue after a few hours of using eyeshadow or eyeliner.

Now on to the good parts.

First, I use Drive, to set the concealer in and act as a base for the rest of my eyeshadow.

Second, I use Crisp all over my lid which I really like because it gives like a caramel-ish type of color to my lids.

Third, I use Stylin in my crease to sort of define my lids. It really gives me some color to my lids and I pack it all in.

Lastly, I use a shimmer. I usually just pick a shimmer that I’m currently liking from my mood, but, I find that I use Boss a lot more than Hype or Dominate.

And that’s all!

Sometimes I put on eyeliner (as minimal as possible even though sometimes it turns out to be a large wing) and I always put on mascara whenever I wear eyeshadow.

Guys I know this lacked an enormous amount of information, but, I thought you guys might want to see what I wear for eyeshadow and what palette I use!

So, thank you guys so much for reading and if you have any suggestions on what you guys want to see next please comment down below!

A Review on Moonrise by Sarah Crossan

As many of you guys know, I love to read, which as a student is hard to do because I have to always prioritize homework and preparing for quizzes as well after school activities. But, when I have the free time as well as a book to read, I can really read for hours. One book that I’ve recently read is Moonrise by Sarah Crossan and it has really brought a new light in my life. It must be common to hear that but truthfully I have never had such light bringing in my life. I’ve never had such a dangerous or life threatening moment. This book wasn’t completely an eye opener, but, it did make me realize that some people have to go through this in real life and it makes me sad but in some ways, uncomfortable that some people go through this alone.

This is a great novel in verse that I definitely think could be worth the wait if it isn’t in your nearest bookstore or library, even getting dizzy on the bus or plane to read it is worth it. It didn’t make me cry but it certainly made me realize the importance of family as well as spending time with your family, even friends.

Sorry for making this blog post really short but I truthfully have no excuse except laziness and in a way, panicking about a quiz I had that I ended up failing. But, don’t fret, I’ll be back with more!

Check out my Goodreads if you want to see any recommendations in fiction and nonfiction and in general, see what I’m reading lately!
