When Mia Jenrow arrives in Paris to attend ballet school, she is in for a lot more than she expected. Family, love, ballet, and friendship all come into play as Mia discovers new things about herself, things she loves, and things she hates.

I gave Kisses and Croissants 3.5 stars, enjoying the way it was a cute young adult romance set in Paris. I’ve been really enjoying books that are set in Europe and this one was really cute. I found that Mia and Louis were really cute together and that they’re adventures in Paris really made me miss vacations to France.

The one thing that I found to be quite irritating was the way this book concluded. Now there won’t be any spoilers so don’t worry. The one thing I didn’t like was how abrupt the end was. I found it really unsatisfying and just found my stomach sink in disappointment. I was riding on a high throughout the book, really loving the way this brought me to Paris all over again as if I were by Mia’s side, but, as we got towards the end, the way things happened in Mia’s life were simply put in a bad way. She ended her ballet program in probably the worst there was.

I ended up not really being a fan of that ending and the way that Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau had decided to leave that ending. I had been confused as to whether I was reading the peak issue and that this book was longer, but, it was really the end of the book. I had anticipated to give this a high rating, seeing as how many people loved it, but, the ending was something I couldn’t get past.

Rating Kisses and Croissants 3.5 stars was something that was a last minute change after I had neared the end. It is unfortunate to say this but I really do wish that Mia’s life did not happen that way.

That being said, I had a fun time overall reading Kisses and Croissants. If there was ever a part two, perhaps I would love to read it but for now, I’m going to have to stick with what we have out in the world.
